Way to go!!!!

Well, what a busy weekend! Thr fitst annual Peewee AA tournament was hosted in Middleton, and to our surprise, the boys came away with the silver medal. Which may not seem like that big a deal, but when they came in last every other tournament and had a way too long losing steak, this was special. All the boys played exceptionally well, and played together like a team. Like we knew that they could. It was outstanding.

Potty Training

Decided to start trying to potty train Alyssa again. So, I went to Walmart and we let her pick out her own potty. She picked a Dora the Explorer one. Well... she loves to sit on that thing. It has not even been a week, and she tells me all the time when she has to TEE... that is pee in Alyssa language. Mommy tee, mommy tee. she of course tells me this even when she doesn't have to but, just in case, off we go. I have never see a baby pee so much in my life! At least fifteen time today, for real and then four accidents. That is not including when I put her down for a nap and forgot to put a pull up on her. My bad on that one.
Anyways, she is doing wonderfully. No she just has to realize that she doesn't have to sit on the potty every time she has to fart!!!! :)

Let it snow

Here are some pictures after the first snow fall. It was so Beautiful, and it finally felt like Christmas. Carols playing and lights all ablaze, it was a wonderful feeling.

Gingerbread House

whoops, forgot to flip the pic before uploading!
This is our gingerbread house that we made tonight. It was a tonne of fun with Micah and Thomas trying to decorate and Alyssa trying to eat all the candy off the house. The icing was my job, but I did not to a good job. I guess that cake decorating will not be my next calling.

December 1st

I can't believe that the first of December has arrived already. So much to do still, and yet such a wonderful time of year that it doesn't seem that big of a deal. This is the most wonderful time of the year. I love it when my children are excited and mostly happy. I love having a hold over them too. If you do that again...
Micah's new quote is, " I know how much my parents love me by how expensive the toys are!" Man, we must not love them too much. hahaha
Other than that, I also love the colours and sounds of Christmas.

MOMS

My Mom is down for a couple of days, and can I just say that I love having my mom here. It is so nice to have her here to go shopping with. Pick up thomas when Alyssa is napping, and of course just to sit and have coffee and conversation with. I think that I will keep her and poor Dad will just have to adjust. But then he would have to live on toast and sandwiches and that wouldn't be nice either. HMMM... Well okay, she can go home to him on Wednesday. That is when he is flying in from Holland, which he spent three weeks there with Kathy. They had a wonderful time, and the Eiffel Tower is really high, I am told!

Wow! It has been a while.
For the whole weekend, we were up in Sackville at a hockey tournament. Micah's team lost every game but oh well. They played pretty good the last game. So we stay over Saturday night to be with Esther and chuck and Alyssa, is sick. And I mean gross sick.
On Sunday we return home, but not before Mike and the boys go to the Acadia Vs. NHL oldtimers game. Alyssa and I shop for a while but I am not feeling that great and just want to go home. Mike tells me to get healthy, because I am always complaining that I am sick. WELL, in the middle of the night, I am so sick, that I can't stay out of the bathroom, then Thomas comes up, runs into my bathroom door and pukes all over the floor. Try cleaning that out of carpet at one in the morning. He then proceeds to sleep on our floor, and throw up every hour. He stays home all day and sleeps all day. I mean all day. Woke up and six at night, and went back to sleep, at eight-thirty. Alyssa, who we thinks is better, is laying with me on our NEW WHITE couch. See where this is going? Yes she spews orange juice all over me and the couch. What am I more concerned about? Yes my couch, and her of course. She ends up sleeping with me last night as well. Both of the kids still throwing up. Thomas is home from school, again today. And Alyssa is now curled up in is arms sound asleep. On the plus side, I am feeling better and even showered and everything. I paid Micah to stay home yesterday and look after Nick, so I could lay on the couch and sleep. He earned his money as he looked after Nick, Alyssa, and me. Gotta love older kids!

Another day, another dollar?

Does the whole wednesday thing mean that you get to take a day off, or that you should really clean your house? I want the day off. Every time I turn around, there is toys in my "no toy" zone, more laundry to do, and dishes galore. I am just scared that if I stop today, the work tommorow would be far too great. Course, I could stop blogging, and get to work, but...

ARGH!!!!!!!

What a morning! It started pretty good at seven thirty with the dog coming to wake me up. Alyssa slept from eight to eight which was great. Thomas had hockey at eight forty-five, andso off we were. I decided to take the van and let Mike take the car and than trade when he took Micah to Canning. Turns out, Thomas' practice was in Kingston. This I found out after taking him to Greenwood. Call Mike he says its in Kingston( would have been nice to know beforehand). AND HIS PRACTICE IS TWO HOURS LONG!!!! So cold.
ANyhow, Mike comes to take the van, and is gone for about five minutes before I realize he did not pass me the keys to the car. Can I just say that it is a good thing I am friendly and know quite a few people. One man drove us home, while another lady loaned us her car seat for Alyssa. Because who knows where the extra set of car keys are. Not me.
Morale of the story. If you want something done right, get up earlier, plan ahead, and don't ever trust your husband to give you all the info or the keys.

CAN YOU GUESS?

Guess where we are, and do you think Alyssa's tired of it yet? Only seven more months to go!!

A Sweet Sleep

So, I always knew that Alyssa liked to sleep. But the most amazing thing has happened. The other night around 8:30, Michael said, "Alyssa, time for bed". She got up kissed her father, took my hand, led me to her crib, and tried to climb in!!!! I know... my boys were never like that. I think they screamed "NO".

So then last night, we were out late grocery shopping, and after we got home and I changed her into her jammies, I thought she might like to play for a couple of minutes. Nope, she got up waved for daddy to come here, and showed him her crib to put her in. Right to sleep like a little angel. AHHHHH finally a good child to put to bed.( thomas is sitting here reading this as I type, so I have to rub it in a little bit. hahaha...

These are pictures that my wonderful sister gave to me for my birthday. She saved to a cd every pic she has taken of me and my family since getting her camera. Over 2 hundred I would say. What A GREAT present. Along with a photo album of ones that she had done off. These are some great shots of my kids and the one of my whole family.

Kathy

This is Kathy in her tan cams, and outside the camp. She called and is doing fine. Looking really skinny, but that comes with eating everything out of a box. She is with her friend Joe.
It's another beautiful day here in Greenwood and for that we can be thankful. I am thankful because I left my laundry out on the line last night and now they can dry again from the semi-frost we had last night. Also Thomas has a race today in Middleton and it is always nice to have great weather for that.
Alyssa and Nick are acually starting to play together now which is nice. She doesn't really want to share her toys, but she does because I force her too. Luckily, he wants to play with mostly cars and trucks and the such. But it is kind of cute to see them chasing each other around and laughing. It took almost a month to get to this.
Anyhoo, off to bake some cookies and such.

Things to give thanks for

Taking a hint from others...

Although it is a dreary day with the rain and such, I can be thankful for.

1. A roof over my head, ( and a nice roof at that)
2. A dryer to dry my clothes in
3. A full well so that I can do laundry
4. Raincoats so that my kids don't get wet on the way to school.
5. Nice furry blankets to curl up on the couch with and read.
6. The Bible for something good to read.

Happy Sunday

For the first Sunday in a long time there is no hockey. This is soooo great, but the bad thing is that it is only October 1st. So what to do. Take a nap, watch some football which I love and relax. Oh yes and change the living room around, but I can't get it the way I want it. Help!
And it is not my birthday! That would be the 7th. I refuse to turn thirty before I absolutely have to. And that is not until 11:45, Saturday morning. Honestly, where has the time gone. Not that I would want to do it again for anything. There has been important lessons learned, that I would no want to do all over again. Getting through the first five years of marriage for one thing. YIKES. God is good and we are still together and acually still love each other. Most of the time. :)

Saturday, September 23, 2006

So I'm on line reading about Kim's blond moment and the burning of pots and food and so on. Enjoying my time on line, and seeing how everyone is doing. I honestly only took me about half and hour. I go upstairs, and smell something funny. I TOO WAS BURNING MIKE'S MEAL!!!!!!!!!!!! His poor little cheese pogo's were a nice black color. Oh well, he can eat a sub :) It was the smell that I minded. Luckily, they were just in the toaster oven so when I get around to it, it shouldn't be to bad to clean up. Ah, the ironies of life.
Kathy called and she is going fine over there. Gor her first package from me. Yes, she finally got her flea collars!!!!!!!!!!

AND I THOUGHT...

So I thought that i had been sick with a cold for quite a while. I took Alyssa to the doctor, and he checked us out. Turns out I have pnemonia(?), and both Thomas and Alyssa have lung infections. I would just like to say sorry to anyone that I came in contact with!!! Please don't get sick! Now we are all on antibiodics, and we all know how fun that is. I got a new puffer to which I like. My life line to breathing half of the time lately.
Anywho, can't wait to feel better.

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

So, except for Micah the whole family has been sick with this cold. Thomas is scaring me because he is coughing so much. I have given him my puffer a bunch of times and that seems to be helping a little bit. Alyssa is to young for that, but her poor nose won't stop running. Last night was the first time she slpet through the night in four nights. Shes not even too crancky today.
Took Max in to get the old snip snip. Now just to convince Mike that he should too... except now I am babysitting a three year old boy and thinking that four kids would be nice. Mike and I said that we should have had one in between Thomas and Alyssa. The seperation is great and all the kids got along great.
Well, other then the colds and stuff, my life has been pretty boring. I think I am going to start working out again, maybe pilates which makes me feel toned and wonderful.

The Countdown is on

One more day till school starts! I am kind of excited, and kind of sad. I do love having my kids around, but having a schedule is nice too. Set bedtimes, arrival and departures, etc...
Micah is going to a new school, and I think he is kind of scared, even though he won't admit it. He is way too cool.
Last minute pickups are getting done tonight, and I am also getting pictures back from Walmart. I can't wait.
