What a BEAUTIFUL Day

Well, so far it has been a beautiful day. I have done four loads of laundry and hung them all out to dry. the last two loads should be done by the time we are home from baseball.
I only had the two girls today, and of course my own, so it was pretty queit in the house today. The boys went swimming at a friends house and Alyssa and Jenna napped. Ah... the peace.
Now of f to the ball field for a game between the peewees and us. Should be interesting. Thomas is playing again so he is happy. But I do lose my Alyssa chaser. Ah, well, I am the mother!!:)
I think that I should coach next year and Mike should have to chase her. He will see why I am so tired at the end of a ball game. No sittin around for me.
Back to the beautiful day. Love the sunshine and cooler temps.

OOPS

Well our tournament is in Middleton not Berwick. OOPS.
Yikes sick of unps who are clearly homies. All the coaches of the other teams are going to put in a protest it was so bad. Two teams lost the same way. Way ahead in score until the last inning and the ump would not call a strike and the players of the Middleton team walked in and won. It was disgusting to watch and sad for the players on both teams when that happens.

Baseball

So this weekend, and I can't believe it is already here, we will be spending in Berwick for the most part. So if any of ya'll want to see some action packed baseball ( not really) come and watch us! Thomas is playing on Micah's team this weekend and is really excited about it. It will be the first time he has ever played with a team, and I hope he will do good. He does well in sports so I shouldn't worry too much.
Anyway, drop by, though I don't know the hours yet. We will of course be going to Benson's as that is the treat when we go to Berwick. Yummy ice cream!
I have to go exercise to get in shape for all the food.

Katherine the Mighty Part II

Well, I received a phone call from Kathy saturday night around midnight, which would have been seven in the morning where she is at. She said she was doing good and that she had to go out and "play". I didn't think much about it until I saw the news the next day. I have been a news junkie for a while now, but now even worse.(Kathy hates that I leave the new on and it repeates itself at least every halfhour!). Anyways, she is obviously all right, but with the news the next day, I felt sick to my stomach all day thinking that she had probably been there. She is still my little sister, and I would do anything to protect her.
On the funny side when she called, she asked me to send her flea collars for around her boots to keep them away as they are driving everybody crazy and that seems like the best solution!!!!
Stay brave, stay safe Kathy and we love you here.

Old Friends

So, yesterday, I went to a baby shower of an old friend. I t was so great to see people that I haven't seen in years. Renewing old friendships has got to be one of the best parts of life. How many kids? Married? Everything that is going on. Just this time we have to stay in contact with each other. We can't keep having babies in order to see each other. Although some of you should have a couple more!
Anyways, it was nice to talk of old times, memories, and the current events in everyone's lives. Come visit, read my blog and start up you own so we can stay current. It is great.

Sleep

So I think I am getting less sleep now than when Alyssa was first born. Who knew that a puppy could bark and cry and howl all night. Last night, first it was the dog, then Alyssa, then the dog, and then Alyssa... I Finally put Alyssa in with us and discovered that the dog was coming through the baby moniter. So I shut that off, shut my door, and who knows what happened next. Not me I finally went to sleep.
I am sure it was Mike and the boys who wanted that dog, so why am I the one getting up with it? Ahhhh, and then every morning reminding Micah that if he would take the dog out when he got up, the dog would not pee on his carpet. On the plus side, he hasn't done number 2 in our house except the first night. Now is I could just train Alyssa.....

Anyways, see everyone next sunday.

our puppy

Well, we did it. We got ourselves a puppy. It is the cutest little thing ever, and will not grow to big. It has white curly hair and has some wierd name. I caved, and we got it at the pet store.$$$$$
oh well, at least I am not too allergic to it!!!
Kids love it even though it barfed on the way home. Luckily he was in the carrier and didn't get it all over the van. If I had a digital camera, I would put a picture of it on. :)

Katherine the mighty

Well, I talked to Katherine one last time before she left for Afganastan. She seemed in good spirits and almost relieved that the time was here. Maybe the waiting is the hard part. I thought that I did really good, I didn't cry until we were off the phone and then only for a little while. I am so scared for her. A sisters bond is something isn't it? We share everything and love so much that it hurts me to see her away in such a volitile place (even if she doesn't seem to mind going at all). I can't even really express my feelings on this. She's my sister but we are and always have been best friends along side of Esther. The thing about Kathy is she is really tough and nothing seems to get to her too much. she holds it inside and I sometimes want to know what she is really thinking. Isn't she scared, or we all scared enough for her?
Anyways, I know that the Lord will protect her from harm if it is his will, and we have really nothing to fear. I love you Kathy, be safe.
Must come up with a verse from Proverbs for this one:)

The wonder of Scotch Guard

Well, I have to say, scotch guard is a wonderful thing. So far we've gone through two cans and working on the third. It helps that the kids will no longer be using the living room for anything but sitting. That includes Mike!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely no eating :)

Right pieces, wrong places.

its been a long days night...

Well, Thomas had his last night of soccer for the u8 season. It seemed to really fly by this year. Of course, if I had been able to see all of the games instead of chasing Alyssa, that would have been nice. Oh well, them's the breaks of have a baby.
Thomas team lost their last game, which was a disappointment. they were undefeated until now. I blame the ref... hahaha.
Micah seemed to have a good b-day. Got his ear peirced, and we promised him a dog. What were we thinking? Stupid promises. Time to stock up on allergy pills.
We also got new furniture, white, with three kids. Again, what were we thinking!?! Also bought four cans of scotch guard. Hope that will do the trick.
Love you kids, love you Michael, going to bed.

Isn't it great having family that is close? Today, Esther, Chuck, and darling babies came down and so did Mom and Dad. Just missing Katherine, and seriously, we did miss you Kathy.
We sat around and talked about nothing, ate pizza, and did my favorite thing. Held the baby. I might have been a little selfish with her, but they are only this tiny for so long.
I look at Micah, Thomas and Alyssa (who looks so big next to Anika) and think that you better enjoy every step they take and every move they make, because soon they will be too big to cuddle the way you want to. Though sometimes you have to just grab the older ones and hold on tight because they will always be your babies in your heart.
I love you Micah, Thomas, and Alyssa.

It's a busy and wonderful life

Ever think what it would be like not running around to sports, birthday parties, sports, vbs, school, and oh did I mention sports?
Boring, that's what it would be. Love my children and wouldn't give it up for anything. OK, maybe one night home with a quiet household would be nice, but other than that, I wouldn't have anything different. soccer tonight, parents vs. kids we'll be decimated .
